Extremely powerful and beautiful words. This should be everywhere.

So well said! Wondering - no idea how much it would help but sometimes small things can make a big difference. Is there a way for Americans to individually donate to Ukraine's cause and show our support?

The last paragraph of Timothy Snyder's Substack post today has links to organizations that might be helpful: https://open.substack.com/pub/snyder/p/the-logic-of-destruction?r=6ngk5&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

You can try Greater Good. They might have a way/orgs they work with in Ukraine.

I was just wondering the same. We must help again inspite of tRump and because of putin.

Thank you for sharing your poem! I'm going to share it with two friends who live in Bosnia and who were young activists and then soldiers against the Serbian invasion. They were all conscripted to fight in the war but eventually ended up waging peace instead. They founded an organization called NEŠTO VIŠE (Youth Trails for Peace), and they were funded to come to the U.S. to study at the College where I was a faculty member. Their work connected Bosnian and Serbian youth to learn about one another's shared humanity and to learn urban agriculture to help provide food in areas where people were experiencing hunger after the war.

I am not able to pay as I am on social security and am 83. I will refer my friends & family to your site. We can each make a “little cut” to the regime and a thousand little cuts will destroy them.

Thank you for this! My landlord/friend is Ukrainian. My dentist is Ukrainian. My first "intro" to a Ukrainian was when I was in 6th grade elementary school (1956!) when a young Ukrainian lad and his mother had come to the U.S. as refugees.

I have watched the movie "Bitter Harvest", an historical film about the Holodomor that took place in the 1930s. Stalin starved over 9 MILLION Ukrainians to death, stealing their grain harvests. And now, Sadist Trump wants to take away their rare earth mineral rights. Somehow, we must stay this toxic evil. I am sick of the evil the man perpetrates and perpetuates.

By the way, I want to print copies of your essay to share with my Ukrainian friends and others -- if that is okay

Thank you! I just read your poem to the people of Ukraine. After feeling sick, humiliated & terrified at the INSANITY demonstrated in the White House today. By DJT & JD. The only titles I can think of for them would be foul words & still not foul enough to show my utter disdain, horror & contempt for them, their puppet masters (oh, there are old white men who have been pulling DJT'S strings since that horrible "reality" show of his. I despised him before that for his disgusting "beauty pageants" & never watched His Orange Vomit on T.V.).

Your powerful poem reminds me again why we must fight -- peacefully, loudly & daily.

Prayers for you & your loved ones. Our cousin is a former seasonal NPS Interpretive Ranger, now a GIS specialist for FEMA. She is 70, has no savings, & is waiting for news about her position. She was too worried to speak out before. Now she has been on social media, sharing & reposting first person reports by federal workers who have lost everything with no warning & no safety net.

WE STAND STRONG

WE STAND UNITED

WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP NOR GIVE IN.

Keep your courage.

We shall prevail.

We must prevail.
