Public Servant's two most compelling lines on Stephen Colbert:

"Yet satire alone cannot heal the land,

When a plague descends, a grim demand."

My demurral refers to Public Servant's elsewhere in the poem putting plague in Covid's context only.

Rather, it should go in the context of her own firing from the federal agency where she had worked -- as all part of criminal Donald's criminal enterprise in killing the many key protections in many areas the U.S. government long served.

That larger context more largely involves the criminal rich who've taken over in too many ways: via the cover-ups criminal Donald and his minions have performed for all the Trump/Epstein predators; via Citizens United and other privileging of massive amounts of dark money in the hands of the billionaire few; via those billionaires growing the wealth gap; via schools having given up on the teaching of humanities and essay writing; via the anesthetization of testing which schools have embraced instead; and via the growing public prominence of techie, media, and other cynical billionaires propping up criminal Donald's vast corruptions.

Stephen Colbert is so missed. Thanks for the great tribute. Hope he turns up doing what he does so well very soon.

Thank you, dear laureate, for your tribute so right,

In reflecting our reverence for the late late-night Knight.
