Kamala would have been an awesome president and she would have been able to continue with her many goals she had as an essential part of the last administration. They had done so much to repair our relationships with our allies and progress this country forward. She was even working on chasing the greedy hedge funds out of the residential housing market and actually doing something to bring down the costs. When I think of what we could have had and what we got stuck with I weep for this nation.

Trump never should have been allowed to run. He tried to overthrow the government, yet for some reason he was allowed to vote. Is it that the Democrats fear the Republicans so much? This is the fault of the Democrats. They sat back and left that traitor, con man, Italian American rapist/racist run for president again. He should've been arrested immediately after January 6. But no, we have to do every single thing by the book. Why? The Republicans are using using street fighting tactics and we're fighting by the rules of Queensberry is it? You can't have a revolution with manners.

Such a great poem and so true. Just think what we could have had. I hope you send your poem to her. She deserves to have it. Thank you for writing it and sharing it with us. Made me feel a little better when reading it and feeling like there is hope for a better place and a better USA.

Your poem is a tribute to a great person and it is inspirational as well. We must keep our eye on the "prize" and not become complacent with things as they are now. I saw Kamala on Stephen Colbert the other night and one of the things that resonated with me was her statement that we can't pin our hopes on one man or woman, no knight will come to our rescue. Rather it is up to each one of us to fight back and regain our country. Enough is enough!

A wondrous Brit migrated to SF poet & poetry appreciator at U.C.-Berkeley, the late great Thom Gunn was teaching a class and having a student read the poem under study out loud to the class. The poet asked if he could read it from last line up to first. Ever-receptive teacher-poet Gunn said sure. Class poet read it backwards and those sensations took up rest of discussion time in class from a fresh perspective, angle and take-away exercise & bit of funhouse mirror fun....

Here's Thom Gunn a coupla years after he was my poetry teacher at U.C.-Berkeley reading the already altered senses & sensations of his trippy or shroomy not-long-enough poem "Moly" read lede line on down into rutting soil.....

'Moly' As Recited by Thom Gunn (1983)

"Thom Gunn introduced four of his own poems for the Audio Cassette, 'In Their Own Words', which was compiled by an Independent Publishing House and released in 1994. This is the recital of his first poem, entitled 'Moly', and recorded in May 1983. The poem was first featured in Gunn's book of poems also entitled 'Moly' that was published in January 1971."

"Thom Gunn was born in England, in August 1929. Here, his works were associated with 'The Movement', whose objective was to prove the importance of English poetry over the new modernist poetry. He later emigrated to America, in 1960, where his work loosened towards a more free-verse style."

This version of the recording has been edited to reduce the hissing associated with the original Compact Cassette.
