Bad Bunny's Love is Stronger than Trump's Hate
A poem for the greatest Super Bowl performance of all time
My Fellow Democracy Defenders,
The only thing more powerful than hate is love. Bad Bunny showed the world how to fight fascism on the biggest stage. I have written a poem inspired by his bravery. If you enjoy my work, your support would be greatly appreciated. My partner and I are both struggling public servants who have been negatively impacted by the MAGA/DOGE cuts.
The lights cut through the darkness of the Sunday night,
A billion eyes were watching, waiting for the fight.
No wall of stone or mortar, no guard in military gear,
Just a Bunny in the center, with nothing left to fear.
He took the stage with fire, the rhythm in his chest,
A heartbeat for the people who never find a rest.
Against the silence of the tyrant, the bully’s harsh decree,
He turned the stadium to pulso, wild and fierce and free.
They tried to build the barriers, to hate the neighbor’s face,
To erase the vibrant colors of the human melting place.
But every bass drop thundered, every reggaeton beat,
Said, “You cannot cage the eagle, you cannot defeat the street.”
He sang for every dreamer, standing tall in the light,
For the families at the border, seeking refuge in the night.
A shield of pure aesthetics, a shield of sound and pride,
He let the fascist rhetoric crumble from the inside.
With every step, a protest, with every word, a vote,
He didn’t ask for permission to clear the throat of hope.
Bad Bunny stood as hero, the Defender of the Land,
Using music as a weapon, resistance in his hand.
The halftime show was over, the confetti filled the sky,
But the echo of the freedom call will never, ever die.
He showed the world that democracy isn’t just a law,
It’s the beat that makes us move, it’s the feeling in the core.

Watching Bad Bunny on the halftime stage, I didn’t just see a performance—I felt a statement. Every beat, every move, reminded me that hope can outpace fear and hate, and that standing up for democracy can take many forms—even through music. That night was a powerful reminder that democracy isn’t just rules on paper; it lives in our actions, our courage, and the ways we speak out.
Incredibly well written. Kudos.
♥️ this!
Very well done!
You took us another step towards hope, and determination to stop the destruction by the criminal in the WH and all of the criminals in his administration!
Thank you!
I stand with you!
Bless you & Bless Bad Bunny & everyone who believes that we can end the hate and destruction.
